dc.description.abstract | This paper reviews the basic design and general characteristics of a family of standard flash x-ray systems, used for obtaining small caliber ballistic data, ranging from 100-kV to 2.3-MV peak output voltage. The design emphasizes control and repeatability of x-ray output and reliability in the field. Different system configurations and types of output radiations are available to optimize fit to various applications. Selected applications are briefly discussed to illustrate equipment use and performance. | |
